Dallin PTO Banner

Dallin Elementary Community,

Our thoughts are with everyone around the world impacted, either directly or indirectly, by COVID-19. This is an extraordinary time and as we navigate through this rapidly-evolving situation, the health and safety of the Dallin Community are our top priority.

As your PTO board, our goals are to help keep our Dallin community safe, healthy and supported. We recognize and acknowledge that our fellow Parents/Caregivers, Teachers and Staff are juggling – working, parenting and homeschooling while striving to keep your households managed, healthy and fed. At a time when ‘business as usual’ is not an option, we need to focus on helping each other and assisting each other. As a reminder, the Dallin PTO and community are here for you. It’s a moment for us to come together and rally. If you need assistance or support, have a way to support one another or have ideas to help and share what is working during this time, please email dallinptoboard@gmail.com. We will do our best to help, facilitate and share.

Lastly, we extend our sincerest gratitude to the first responders, medical teams and all the people and organizations working to make the world safer as we battle to contain COVID-19. Thank you to everyone doing their part in social distancing and flattening the curve.

Be safe and take care.

Dallin’s Biennial Live & Silent Auction
May 8, 2020 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Arlington Town Hall’s Robbins Memorial Auditorium

Please join us to celebrate our Dallin Faculty and Staff Stars, support the great teaching and learning that occurs at Dallin, bid on some great items from our generous donors and sponsors, and enjoy a drink or dessert with your Dallin friends.

All proceeds from the Auction will be used to support two years of PTO budgeting, including mini-grants for innovative teaching, professional development, classroom materials and enrichment activities.

It’s a big event and we’ll need some volunteers to make it a success.

How can you help?

  • Family Donations – These are the heart and soul of the auction! Members of the Dallin community can donate IT services, childcare services, family photo sessions, etc. You don’t have to go it alone. Get together with some friends, check out our idea list on the back of this flyer and donate to support the school! Go to charityauction.bid/2020DallinSpringAuction to submit an online donation form or print out the donation form below and submit it to the PTO Auction box in the Dallin main office by Thursday, March 12th to be included in the Auction program.
  • Marketing/Promoting the Event to Dallin Community – Like and follow our Facebook page, then like and share posts to help spread the word through your group of Dallin Facebook friends.
  • Selling Tickets – We’ll have tables at some events you may already be coming to and some at times before and after school.
  • Set Up/Decorations – Feeling crafty? We may need help putting together decorations and we’ll definitely need help on the day of the auction to get everything in place and ready to go.
  • Check In/Check Out – Are you a people person? We’ll need help closing out bids and collecting payment.
  • Clean Up – Who doesn’t love an after party? Be our hero and help us return the Town Hall to the way we found it.

Interested in finding out more or want to offer your help? Join us at the next Auction Committee meeting February 12th at 7 PM, or let us know at DallinAuction@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you there!

Suggestions

We’re always looking to find ways to help all families feel welcome and connected to the Dallin community, and welcome any questions or feedback you may have! Please contact us at dallinptoboard@gmail.com.

Box Tops for Education has provided an important source of funding for our PTO– earning up  to $1000/year. However, the Box Tops program is changing by moving to a digital format.

What can you do to earn Box Tops for Dallin?

Download the digital app at boxtops4education.com or search for it in the app store.

  • Select Dallin as your school.
  • When you buy any Box Tops product, scan your receipt into the app within 14 days.  If there is a paper Box Top, scan your receipt and clip the Box Top and Dallin will earn double!
  • **After scanning, select “credit” and include your child’s teacher’s name (so I can add the digital totals to your child’s classroom).  This is a new app feature so if you’ve already been using the app, email me, and we’ll get your prior earnings added to your child’s classroom total.
  • Your Box Tops earnings will be credited to Dallin!

Look for bonus Box Tops  offers!

Box Tops is offering many special offers to get parents to use the new app.  For example, until 9/30/19, you can earn $5 (50 Box Tops) if you buy 2 Box Tops products at BJs! Check the app for more.

Keep clipping paper Box Tops!

Have you been clipping Box Tops?  Keep it up! The paper Box Tops will be collected until they expire (check the dates).

  • Send your Box Tops in with your child
  • Each teacher has a Box Tops collection bin
  • DEADLINE for Fall Box Top submission:  Friday, Oct. 18, 2019

Which classroom will win our twice yearly competition??

Help your child’s classroom win the twice yearly Box Tops collection drive!  The winning classroom will negotiate a class-wide “prize” with their classroom teacher.

Thanks, as always, for your participation!

For more information, contact the Box Tops for Education Coordinator, Erin Daly at erinsdaly@gmail.com

Don’t forget, next PTO meeting is October 30, 7pm.

Thank you for helping our children grow.

We are so excited to be hosting a Fall Book Fair with Fantastic Book Fairs in the library next week, October 15 – 19. The Book Fair will be open every day beginning at 8:30 and will remain open for an hour after school. Additionally, we will be open until 6:30 on Thursday for those of you who cannot make it earlier in the day.

We are still in need of volunteers to help set up, to assist during the day with wish lists and purchasing books, after school, and at the end of the week to pack up. We’re using Signup.com to organize our Book Fair volunteers. If you are able to help out, please add your name to the sign-up at http://signup.com/go/dZwtMhW or contact one of the Book Fair Coordinators. It’s a lot of fun and we can’t do it without you!

Thank you!
